The Stories We Carry:
The relationship we have with ourselves shapes how we connect with others, navigate challenges, and experience life.
Throughout childhood, we learn ways to protect ourselves, adapt, and find safety. These responses often serve an important purpose at the time, helping us cope and make sense of our experiences.
Awareness is the beginning of creating a different relationship with ourselves. As we grow, some of these protective patterns may continue to influence how we see ourselves, express our needs, and relate to others.
Have You Ever Wondered...
Why you are so hard on yourself?
Why saying "no" feels so difficult?
Why certain situations trigger such strong emotions?
Why you keep repeating the same relationship patterns?
Why you often feel responsible for everyone else's happiness?
Why you struggle to trust yourself?
Why you feel like you're "too much" or "not enough?"

Understanding the Stories We Carry
Each of us carries stories that began long before we had the words to understand them. The experiences we had, the messages we received, and the ways we learned to cope can influence how we see ourselves, connect with others, and respond to life today.
In this workshop, we use the inner child framework as a compassionate way of exploring these earlier experiences. Rather than looking back with blame, we create space for curiosity, understanding, and self-compassion as we explore the beliefs, emotions, and protective patterns we may still carry.
“If you're ready to better understand yourself, explore the stories you've been carrying, and connect with a community of women who value growth and self-reflection, I'd be honoured to walk alongside you.”

This workshop is an educational and experiential group experience rather than group therapy. You will learn practical concepts, participate in guided activities, and have opportunities for personal reflection alongside other women. While many participants find the experience meaningful and insightful, the workshop is not a substitute for individual psychotherapy. It also differs from a retreat in that it is a structured, one-day learning experience with practical tools you can continue exploring afterward.
-
Meaningful self-reflection takes time. The workshop has been intentionally designed to create space to slow down, learn, reflect, connect, and integrate your experience without feeling rushed. The day includes a variety of activities, breaks, lunch and opportunities to recharge, creating a balanced and engaging experience.

Not at all. You do not need any prior knowledge or experience. The workshop introduces the concepts in an approachable and supportive way, meeting you wherever you are in your personal growth journey.
-
Bring a journal if you have one, wear comfortable clothing, and come with an open mind and a willingness to be curious. All workshop materials will be provided.

Emotions are a natural part of self-reflection, and there is no expectation that you will share or process anything you are not ready to. The workshop is designed to support thoughtful exploration in a compassionate and respectful environment. You are always encouraged to participate in a way that feels right for you.
-
No. This workshop is open to all women who feel the experience aligns with where they are in their personal growth journey. You do not need to be a current psychotherapy or coaching client to participate.

- Workshop facilitator, Janet Fournier
My relationship with the stories I carry has been both a teacher and a guide. These stories have a way of surfacing at unexpected moments, inviting curiosity, reflection, and a deeper understanding of myself.
Through my own journey, I have come to appreciate the younger parts of myself and the qualities they hold: tenderness, resilience, courage, curiosity, and a capacity for joy. The ongoing work has been learning how to listen to these parts with compassion and create a healthier relationship with the experiences that have shaped me.
This personal exploration, combined with my professional experience as a therapist, has informed the way I support others in exploring their own stories. I have incorporated these concepts and practices into my therapeutic work, witnessing the value of creating space for reflection, self-compassion, and deeper self-understanding.
The Stories We Carry is a 6-hour experiential workshop for women designed to offer a supportive space for exploration and connection. Through guided reflection, psychotherapeutic and somatic practices, creative exploration, and meaningful connection, participants are invited to explore the beliefs, experiences, and stories that influence how they see themselves and relate to others.
This is an opportunity to explore your own story with curiosity, kindness, and care.
